Nutcracker
Metro King County
We were commissioned by Metro King County to design their 7' tall
Nutcracker this year. The nutcracker was auctioned to benefit Northwest
Children's Home and was purchased by the owner of Salty's restaurant to be
displayed in one of their three restaurants next holiday season. For now,
through the end of December, he's located in the Metro bus tunnel, so if
you're in the area, stop by and give him a visit.
The theme of the Nutcracker needed to be transportation oriented thus the
concept "Ride the magic carpet. Ride Metro's magic carpet." The design is a
Genie riding a carpet with wheels. We added glitter to the paint and used
reflective vinyl to make him sparkle and dazzled him with rhinestones.
The effect was, well, award winning! We won the "Peoples Choice Award",
being selected out of 60 nutcrackers! |
